Installation guide - HelpDesk 3
The installation is straight forward however you will need to follow this guide very carefully. In case you stuck please watch the installation video, check our FAQ or use our support tickets.
Please follow all the steps carefully.
First the 4.0_complete/include/db.php.new file
- Please rename this file to db.php
- Open the file in a text editor.
- The db.php file is commented throughout, so you should be able to work out what values to enter for the variables yourself.
- When you have finished, save the file.
Upload
- Create a subfolder or subdomain on your server, for example: livechat
- Upload all files and folders from the 4.0_complete directory into the previously created livechat folder with your preferred FTP program.
- Set Folder permissions (CHMOD 755) sometimes you will need to set 777 depending on your server configuration to: cache/, files/ and sub folders
- On Apache and nginx you can add a .htaccess / .conf file to the folders mentioned above to protect them from accessing. More information on our website in the FAQ section.
Install the database
Point your browser to http://www.yourdomain.com/install/install.php (where www.yourdomain.com is the URL of your Site).
Configuration and finishing
- Please delete the install folder after installation!
- Point your browser at: http://www.yourdomain.com/operator/
- Sign in with your login information you entered before.
- Configure your HelpDesk 3, it should be easy to understand, should you run into problems.
